♦ Medical Information ♦
Visiting an urgent care or emergency room is the best option in New York City to see a medical professional on the same day.
Emergency rooms are associated with hospitals and are usually open 24 hours.
Urgent cares are usually open from 8am to 8pm (make sure you check the timings of the urgent care you are going to) and will have doctors but not necessarily all the equipment a full hospital carries.
Mount Sinai Doctors – East 34th Street is a six- floor, multi-specialty practice located close to our campus in midtown Manhattan. They accept walk-ins and appointments; their website is http://www.mountsinai.org/locations/msd-east-34. There are multiple Mount Sinai locations throughout New York City, students can find a location closes to them at http://www.mountsinai.org/locations.
If a student needs to make a doctor’s appointment in advance or see a specialist, they will want to first make sure their health insurance is accepted. If they speak with their health insurance company they should be able to help them locate doctors in NYC that accept their insurance or speak with the doctor’s office directly to find out if their insurance is accepted.
