Fall 2019 Museum Day

16th September 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join Hochschule Fresenius for some time at the Museum. We will be meeting at the Great Hall Groups Desk in the Main Entrance of the 5th Avenue Met Museum. The desk is just behind and to the left of the information desk as you enter the main hall. I will be at the desk at 10:45am because the group is quite large. If you come a little before 11am it will help in organizing and sending everyone out on their tour. Each tour group will be lead by a museum guide (about 20 to 25 individuals per tour group).

The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City, colloquially “the Met”, is the largest art museum in the United States. With 7.06 million visitors to its three locations in 2016, it was the third most visited art museum in the world, and the fifth most visited museum of any kind. The main building, on the eastern edge of Central Park along Museum Mile in Manhattan’s Upper East Side is by area one of the world’s largest art galleries.

We will have a one hour long highlights tour by a museum volunteer.

You are of course free to stay and explore the museum after the tour as the museum’s permanent collection contains over two million works, divided among seventeen curatorial departments! We recommend that you look at the calendar for events.

The location of the Met has been seen in countless movies and tv series – this iconic building is very much loved by all visitors!
