Wagner Society of New York: 40th Annual Seminar

The Met’s new production of Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Hollander” (The Flying Dutchman) is the focus of the 40th annual seminar of the WSNY, on Sunday, March 15.

The Met’s new production of Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Hollander” (The Flying Dutchman) is the focus of the 40th annual seminar of the Wagner Society of New York, scheduled on Sunday, March 15, from noon to 5 p.m. at St. Joseph’s School, 420 East 87th St., Manhattan. A highlight will be a roundtable with members of the Met’s Dutchman cast. German soprano Anja Kampe, who will sing Senta in her Met debut, is among those confirmed to date, as is German bass Franz-Josef Selig, who will sing the role of her father, Daland. Also, pianist and lecturer Jeffrey Swann will do a presentation titled “Wagner Discovers Beethoven.”
