Annette Widmann-Mauz has been a member of the German Bundestag since 1998 and the Minister of State and Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration at the Federal Chancellery since 2018. Within the CDU, Ms. Widmann-Mauz is member of the Governing Board. In 2003, she was elected deputy chairwoman of the CDU in Baden-Württemberg.
During her first legislative term, Ms. Widmann-Mauz joined the Committee on Health, and from 2005 to 2009 she served as spokesperson on health policy for her parliamentary group. Later, she became Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health. Ms. Widmann-Mauz studied Political Science and Law at Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen and worked on the European Studies Program (ESP) project at Tübingen University from 1993 to 1998.
