German Higher Education Bridge (GHEB) is the North American liaison office of Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, Germany’s largest private university with campuses in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Wiesbaden and Idstein.

In New York City, Fresenius University of Applied Sciences opened the first German study-center in the United States with the name GHEB. We serve as a base for our students who are studying at our partner institutions – Berkeley College and Pace University – as part of their integrated semester abroad as well as supports our summer school and independent short-term undergraduate/graduate workshops, internships and research.

Till date – since the opening of our center in April 2016 – we have welcomed over 900 students from our German campuses to New York. Our close proximity to the New York Public Library on 5th Avenue as well as Grand Central Terminal makes this a central location for both academic and cultural activities. Our experienced team in Germany and in the United States assists students through their study-abroad experience in it’s entirety.

The German Higher Education Bridge office maintains relationships with our partner universities and is working to establish a North American collaborative network that will enable students to undertake other research / internship opportunities.
