Boris Pistorius has been Minister of Internal Affairs and Sports of Lower Saxony since 2013. He studied law at the Universities of Osnabrück and Münster, and immediately thereafter became the personal assistant of Lower Saxony´s then-Minister of the Interior. In 1995, Mr. Pistorius was promoted to the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Sports of Lower Saxony. After leaving that role in 1997, he remained in civil service, first as the head of several divisions of the district government of Weser-Ems then as head of the Schools & Sports. From 2006 to 2013, Mr. Pistorius served as Lord Mayer of Osnabrück.
