All episodes poignantly reflect milestones in artistic innovation and emphasize the long-standing growth of the cultural relationship and exchange between Germany and the US. This series also demonstrates the German Consulate General New York’s efforts to celebrate European pluralism, as Germany is presiding over the Council of Europe this year.

Reacting to the climate of a highly polarized US Presidential Election, we are presenting a show that features biting and timeless political and social satire. The program here presents a selection of Pulizter-Prize-winning composer William Bolcom’s famous set of Cabaret Songs, as well as works by European composers who have made a big impact on American life.
