National Arts Club: Cellist Christine Lamprea

Hailed a “firebrand” (IncidentLight.com) and noted for her “supreme panache” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer), Colombian-American cellist Christine Lamprea was the First Prize winner of the 2013 Sphinx Competition. She is presented as soloist with major orchestras worldwide. She has also received awards from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and captured First Prize at the 2013 Schadt National String Competition. A winner of Astral Artists’ 2013 National Auditions, Ms. Lamprea has appeared as soloist with the Houston Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, and Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, and has toured with the Sphinx Virtuosi across the U.S., in such venues as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

The National Arts Club is partnering with the Sphinx Organization to present a series of classical concerts featuring outstanding young Black and Latino musicians. The Sphinx Organization is a national social justice organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts.

Please help the NAC support artists. By making a donation with your registration, you contribute directly to the livelihood of our performers and presenters. The NAC will share 50% of all donations with the featured performer/presenter. The remaining 50% will support the NAC Artist Fellows program, helping to further the careers of up-and-coming artists.
