The future of global trade: how does Europe weigh in?

31st October 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

We have the pleasure to invite you to attend our next conference “The future of global trade: how does Europe weigh in?” on October 31st.

Trade has brought the world closer, but it is also frequently a source of tension. On October 2nd, the World Trade Organization allowed the United States to apply 7.5 Billion dollars worth of tariffs on European products (among which factor French wine). Moreover, trade tensions between China and the US are burdening the global economy in an uncertain way and are worrying financial markets.

How can France and Europe defend their economic interests and reform multilateralism? Pascal Lamy will be at the Consulate General of France in New York City to answer these questions.

Pascal Lamy is a French politician, he was General Director of the WTO from 2005 to 2013 and European commissioner from 1999 to 2004. He is now Emeritus President of the Jacques Delors institute.
