A rare and fascinating topic: Professor Harlow Robinson will discuss “The Russian Parsifal: Rimsky-Korsakov and the Invisible City of Kitezh.”
The presentation will focus on the influence of Wagner’s operas on Rimsky-Korsakov, and especially on Kitezh, with audio and visual illustrations from a 2012 De Nederlandse Opera production.
Professor Robinson is Professor Emeritus, Department of History, Northeastern University, with a specialty in Russian studies.
