This is the newsletter from the German Consulate in New York and perhaps of interest to you, if you’re looking for some German-related events in New York:

When the city starts to quiet down, the streets begin to empty and we say good-bye and wheels up to all the honorable guests from the world’s capitals, it’s time to take a breath and reward ourselves with a small gift of a beautiful night out:

Take your friend or your significant other and head to Joe’s Pub to listen to “Berlin’s most celebrated voice” – the magnificent Katharine Mehrling, who indeed sparks magic! If you are more into classical music, register for Clara Schumann’s birthday concert at Deutsches Haus at NYU. Cinema enthusiasts should get ready for the Margaret Mead Film Festival mid-October, and for the newbies in the city: “Ich bin Expat Fair” offers early bird tickets on sale until Monday.

The celebration of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall takes another stage: we are proud to announce our next exhibition opening “A World Beyond the Wall” featuring the work of Harf Zimmermann and Stefan Roloff on October 22, 2019. Register now, let’s celebrate together!

Our new multimedia brochure “A Peaceful Revolution – 30 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall” is out! Scroll down and explore the events, people and personal stories that marked a new era in contemporary German and European history!

Schönes Wochenende!
